The Pink Panther story is actually most likely an French (ex-American) M36 tank destroyer that was painted pink by the local Vietnamese. Not that anyone cares.... =)

I see the rabbits just about every day as I pass this park. I get coffee 5 blocks and 2 major arterials away from the park and I see rabbits in that area - a brown and black 'couple'.

Tonight I saw one about 8 blocks and 3 major arterials away. With cats, dogs, humans, and plenty of cars not every one of these rabbits survives but many do. It's surprising to see them thrive as well as they do in the middle of the city.

First off, the socks are really nice (I would say pretty - but Jeff might not appreciate that! :) ) - I like the yarn..I can't get the two socks at once thing going...I always do mine one at a time.

The sweater is very pretty! What's the pattern? and the yarn? I love raglan sleeves on sweaters so much more than set in sleeves...hmmm....it's been a while since I knit a sweater ... just might have to soon...

Sara, I tried double-poionted needles once too, and I think I would have given up knitting altogether if I hadn't discovered circulars! My grandmother, who taught me to knit, "doesn't understand" how I can use circulars...

Elaine, I haven't seen the trunk show yet... I'll have to check it out soon. The K3 P1 ribbing is pretty nice. I think Jeff likes it too because it's not too feminine looking...

Your socks are looking great. I like the K3 P1 rib, it looks (somehow) more sophisticated. Have you seen the Vintage Socks trunk show at Village Yarn and Tea? They have a similar sock that piqued my interest.

I knit socks with the magic loop method too...I nearly had heart failure trying to deal with those crazy little double pointed needles - all four of them...finally, my teacher gave up and went to this method and I can knit socks really well.

Gauge? For socks? You are brave. If you think 1s are bad, you should try 0s! I have a set of 0 circs now even.

Guage swatch? We don't need no stinkin' guage swatch!

I love that colorway. Don't worry about the size 1 needles--you'll get used to them (although, I confess it does take longer to get anything done with them--so many more stitches!).

From a fellow Cirquer:
Congratulations on the pretty start! I finished up my second sock last night, propelled by my mother's looming birthday. I really like the yarn you have --- and I hear you about size 1s. I've done some Barbie clothes on them, and felt if I let out a hard breath, they'd snap.

Elaine, I have The Artist's Way, and I was writing the morning pages for a couple of years. It is probably the perfect time for me to start writing them again. And maybe I'll have time to do artist's dates now!

Leslie, Grok away!! It's such a needed word in our language!

Totally off topic, but welcome to the KAL! I'm glad you want to play. Have you ever read The Artists Way? I thought it was interesting, but not what I was looking for. If you'd like to look at it I'd be happy to send it to you.

Good job! Your Clapotis looks great, I bet you will just love it. Mine lives in my office at Sand Point and gets used all the time - good thing too, 11 balls of Noro should never be ignored.

Hello! I am sure the great people at the Fiber Gallery can help you with this. One thing you might consider is cutting (stop screaming, it's OK - I promise) the stitch right under the top and dropping it down from there. I know it's been done for clapotis before. If you nipped (is that a softer word?) one stitch, you could sew the nipped ends with a little bit of matching thread, and you would never see it. What yarn did you knit it with? It's really lovely - and Jeff is a winner in my book for the creative/supportive racing stripe comment. Leslie is also very good that way.
